Bonampak
Bonampak is located in the Lacandon Forest of the Chiapas
and in the Lacanha River Valley. This site occupies
1,000 acres. The main buildings were built along the
top of a chain of hills that runs through the middle
of the valley from the Cojolita Range to the side of
the river. However, only the Grand Plaza cluster has
been explored and is open to the public. This plaza
is at the south end of Bonampak, where you can see the
famous building with wall paintings.
